This tutorial will go over basic RustV2 mechanics to help aid you in your adventure. For more advanced tips, or details, view our wiki: https://minebuilders.org/index.php?threads/rustv2-mini-wiki.8339/

Map
Use /map to view the world map. It will help with this tutorial

Protection Mode
While in protection mode, you cannot damage other players. They can kill you, but you wont lose items. You can only lose some items by dying to a mob. Also, you cannot equip anything higher then yellow-tier armor (No full kevlar). This mode will last a few hours, so use it wisely!

Collecting resources

The first thing you'll need to do is collect resources. The higher tier your axe/pickaxe, the more resources you can collect. Iron is the best.

These can be used to craft various items using the workbench/crafting table (Crafting cannot be done in your inventory GUI like vanilla minecraft!)

For wood (Planks, etc) you must search for log piles. They spawn randomly throughout the map (Or cut trees for far less resources)

For Sulfur, Iron, and Coal you'll need to find ore piles. For Iron Ore, you'll need to burn it in a furnace to obtain iron ingots which are used for crafting.

Building your first base
Unlike most servers, RustV2 allows you to place your blocks ANYWHERE. The only limitation is if you place them too close to other player's blocks, they can remove your blocks using the remover tool (/rm). So be careful while placing blocks! View the Mini-Wiki for details on how you should be building: https://minebuilders.org/index.php?threads/rustv2-mini-wiki.8339/

Certain blocks can be destroyed easier. Planks only take 1 C4 to destroy, while stonebrick takes 2. Each tier beyond Stonebrick requires an additional C4 to destroy.

Getting loot
There's HUNDREDS of different items you will find on RustV2, ranging from vehicles, weapons, to throwable rocks. Here's a basic rundown on some of the EASIER looting spots - keep in mind however there's over 100 different mobs on RustV2 and this only covers the basics!

Chests: These can contain ANYTHING. Although mostly they contain schematics and lower tier items. They have the potential however to drop nearly every item on RustV2.

Zombies (~5 different types): Easiest, basic loot. You can expect to find schematics, low tier gear, and rarely some weapons from zombies. They should be killed for basic items only.

Bandits: Bandits can be found in many spots all over the map. The best spot to kill bandits is their fortress encircled by a river. Bandits are a mid-to-low-tier mob. They can be killed to obtain Kevlar armor, guns, ammo, and various other PVP related items. They too can still drop low tier items though. Very rarely they can drop higher tier items, such as Legendary/Mythic guns.

Talons: Talons can be found on the platform in the ocean. They drop PVP equipment much for frequently, but are much harder to kill then bandits. They can also drop raid keys, which are bossfights. Outcasts, a similar variant found at the nuclear power plant, drop unique armor, and the plasma rifle.

Dungeons simplified: There are many dungeons, packed with different mobs found throughout the RustV2 map. They spawn randomly, and should not be ignored if you are in need of items. Some contain mini-bosses, some just mobs.

Raid Keys: Raid keys are usually boss fights that you can invite your friends/allies to. They can also be difficult dungeons, but usually that's not the case. View the Mini-Wiki for further details on what drops what key.
